Introduction
The Graduate School of Information Science (GSIS) at Soongsil University was founded as a Specialized Graduate School in November 1987. Authorized by the Ministry of Education, we began with an initial enrollment of 80 students across two pioneering master's programs: the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Information Industry.
Established in accordance with Article 108 of the Education Act and Soongsil University's core educational philosophy, the GSIS was created with a clear mission: to educate specialized professionals by providing scientific instruction in both the theories and practical applications pertinent to the dynamic IT industry. Our goal is to cultivate IT experts equipped with advanced IT management and administrative capabilities, thereby driving the sustained development of the IT sector.
In direct response to the rapid advancement of IT technology and the heightened competitive landscape of the 21st-century global educational environment, the GSIS has evolved its objectives to meet the demands of the emerging intelligent society.
