PROGRAM
The Global ICT-Convergence Master's Degree Program aims to cultivate global convergence experts capable of solving complex modern social issues by creatively integrating ICT technology with management administration and police policy. Leveraging the specialized expertise of the Graduate School of Information Sciences at Soongsil University, this program provides an integrated perspective on how cutting-edge technology enhances organizational efficiency and ensures public safety. Conducted from 2014 to 2018, the program focused on transferring Korea’s advanced digital governance and world-class "Smart Policing" infrastructure operational know-how, thereby strengthening the policy design and technological convergence capabilities of key government officials from partner countries.

This area focuses on High-speed Information Networks and Wired/Wireless Communication Technologies that drove Korea's digital growth. Participants analyze the implementation of Broadband Convergence Networks (BcN) and the evolution of mobile communications to gain the capacity to design and manage national-scale infrastructure. The curriculum emphasizes cost-effective strategies for infrastructure expansion tailored to developing nations, establishing the physical and technical foundation for a digital society.
This pillar analyzes e-Government systems that utilize ICT to enhance transparency and efficiency in public administration. By studying Korea's world-class electronic government frameworks and administrative information sharing systems, students learn to design innovative public service models suitable for their home countries. Furthermore, it explores convergence cases where ICT is integrated with healthcare, education, and agriculture, enabling participants to apply technology to solve real-world social challenges.
This specialized area focuses on Cybersecurity and Advanced Public Safety Systems to ensure the stability of a digital society. Students study methodologies for building national information security governance and legal frameworks for privacy protection to design secure digital ecosystems. Notably, through the "Smart Policing" track, participants gain expertise in Korea's intelligent CCTV control centers and emergency response systems, building the trusted safety net required for national development.
